LIPS childrens health service is designed around two main needs: routine children’s health appointments; and acute problems that are not emergencies.
Parents often come to us when they are worried about symptoms such as fever, cough, eczema, rashes, allergies, blocked nose, feeding problems, poor weight gain, behavioural changes, or developmental concerns. We are here to help you understand what may be happening and what to do next.

Common concerns we can help with
Feeding and growth
If your baby is not feeding well, seems unsettled during feeds, is eating poorly, or you are worried about weight gain, we can help assess the situation and advise on the next step.
Sleep
Sleep concerns are very common, especially in babies and younger children. If your child is waking often, crying a lot at night, struggling to settle, or developing difficult sleep habits, we can help you talk through your concerns and understand what to do next.
Skin concerns, rashes and eczema
We can help with common skin concerns in babies and children, including dry skin, eczema, and some non-emergency rashes. We offer practical advice on what may be normal, what may need treatment, and when a rash needs closer attention.
Fever, cough and common illnesses
Fever and cough are among the most common reasons parents seek advice. We help parents understand when to monitor symptoms, when to worry, and when further help may be needed.
Allergies and ENT concerns
We also help with allergies and common ear, nose and throat (ENT) concerns, such as a blocked nose that is not getting better. These problems can be worrying for parents and uncomfortable for children, even when they are not emergencies.
Behaviour and development
Some parents come to us because they are worried about their child’s behaviour, attention, communication, or whether their child is developing as expected. We can assess the concern and help guide you towards the right next step, including further support if needed.

Why parents choose this kind of care
Many parents choose private paediatric care because they want more time, clear advice, and a better understanding of what is happening with their child. They are often looking for:
more time to talk through their concerns
clear answers in simple, reassuring language
practical advice they can use at home
written guidance they can come back to later
help knowing when to worry and when to keep monitoring symptoms
a clear idea of what to do next
Important Information for Paediatric Appointments
To help us provide safe and efficient care for children and young people, all paediatric patients must complete a registration process before their appointment.
Parents or legal guardians will be asked to provide:
- Proof of the child's identity (e.g. birth certificate or passport)
- Valid photo ID for the accompanying parent or legal guardian
- Documentation confirming parental responsibility where applicable
Registration and consent forms will be shared during the booking process. We strongly encourage booking in advance where possible, as this helps us complete safeguarding and registration checks before your visit and allows for a smoother appointment experience. If the required documentation is not available at the time of the appointment, the consultation may need to be rescheduled in line with safeguarding requirements.
