About Mr David Baxter

Mr David Baxter is a Consultant Neurosurgeon and specialist in complex spine. He is known in particular for his growing expertise in endoscopic spinal surgery, helping patients recover more quickly and reduce their hospital stay following spinal surgery. Mr Baxter is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, UK and the Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine, Ireland. He completed his neurosurgical training in London’s busiest trauma hospitals. He then completed a Complex Spine Fellowship and worked as a Complex Spine Neurosurgeon at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Stanmore. Mr Baxter now continues his NHS practice at the Whittington Hospital, London. He is a member of the British Association of Spinal Surgeons, the Society of British Neurological Surgeons, the European Association of Neurological Surgeons and the North American Association of Spinal Surgeons. Alongside his surgical practice, Mr Baxter is well regarded for his academic work on cutting-edge neuromodulation in spinal cord injury. He has a PhD from University College London, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is a doctor in the England Performance Unit and a team doctor for the England Wheelchair Rugby League team. Mr Baxter treats all spinal conditions and can offer a variety of surgical and non-surgical solutions, including endoscopic keyhole surgery with rapid recovery times. He works closely with orthopaedic surgeons, pain specialists and physiotherapists for a holistic approach to spinal care.
